Team Development: Improving Together!
Author: Mag. Sandra Seck

To maintain continued success in the future, we rely on clear growth strategies and make every effort to implement them sustainably and consistently. This also includes investing in team development, as a motivated and well-functioning team is a company's greatest asset. With the introduction of a middle management level, we are breaking new ground and preparing for the future.

Last year alone, we hired nine new employees, and the recruitment process continues. Accelerated growth driven by the agency's competencies creates many opportunities for change. For management, this means it's time to optimize processes in the constantly growing team. Each new hire presents new challenges that make good coordination and unified direction increasingly important for project success. To continue leading the company in an agile manner, management decided to introduce a middle management level for support and to reduce workload. This will ensure their capacities are also available for strategic developments and complex solutions in the future.

Teamleads as an Interface

At the beginning of the year, our agency introduced three new positions to motivate and inspire their great team: team leads for the creative minds in the studio, for the marketing strategists in the digital team, and for their apprentices and internal training. The new tasks involve clearly defining processes, organizing structures, documenting procedures, and implementing ideas and guidelines. Peter Thavonat, one of the three new team leaders, has accepted the challenge for the studio team and is the first point of contact for team members in creation, motion design, and text.

Teamlead Peter Thavonat

He serves as the troubleshooter for staff absences or problems with external service providers, plans resource usage, coordinates collaboration, and takes on technical topic development in the team for new tools and strategies. With his enthusiasm and problem-solving skills, Peter is well-equipped for his new tasks and is excited to take them on:

“One of the most exciting aspects of my new role as team leader for the studio is the completely new perspective it offers on what we do. As an art director, I already have a strong understanding of the creative processes within the agency, but now that I have additional tasks related to operational procedures and processes, completely new perspectives have opened up for me. This presents me with exciting new challenges that require additional soft and hard skills. I feel highly motivated by the trust that both management and the entire team have placed in me.”

Room for personal development

As the Art Director, Peter manages international projects and is responsible for the visual conception of campaigns, as well as print and online products. In addition to client consulting and support, he is particularly interested in the design of surfaces and spaces, such as trade fair architecture, which he acquired while working as a pre-press technician. While taking on his new role as team leader, he will be focusing on resource planning, professional development within the team, and the development of new processes and procedures. Peter is always inspired by new trends and interested in new, exciting content. As a result, he recently completed the university course in Marketing & Sales at the Vienna University of Economics and Business while continuing to work at our agency. Congratulations to Peter from all of us!

To keep the team prepared for the future, our agency is working on new concepts, models, and ideas related to personnel development. This involves analytically and holistically addressing various topics to provide new perspectives and to engage employees. It's an exciting task for the team management to tackle problems, suggest improvements, and reflect on these topics despite growth and expansion. It's great to have trustworthy individuals who treat people with respect and appreciation taking on these challenges and strengthening further development in the team.
